a story to tell

My work is focused on how journalists can use their platforms for social good. I’ve done just that in my many reporting and multimedia internships in Indianapolis, from traditional newspapers (Indianapolis Business Journal) to an all-digital non-profit (Chalkbeat Indiana) and public broadcasting (WFYI Public Media).

In 2019, I won the prestigious Thomas R. Keating writing contest, hosted by the Indianapolis Press Club Foundation, for an article about Indianapolis’ homeless and the people who help them (produced in less than five hours!). I’ve also been recognized by the Indiana Chapter of the Society Professional Journalists, including two first-place awards in the 2020 “Best In Indiana” Awards.

I’m now in my senior year at Franklin College in Franklin, Indiana, where I study multimedia journalism, political science and public relations. I live in Indianapolis with my boyfriend and cat.

Upon graduation in May 2021, I will stay in Indianapolis and begin my two years with the Orr Fellowship. You can find me in June at Innovatemap, a digital product agency in Broad Ripple, as I adapt my storytelling skills to marketing.
