journalist, editor, storyteller

Thanks for visiting my portfolio!

In 2017, I became the first member of my family to pursue a college education when I enrolled at Franklin College. Three years in, I’ve experienced more than I could have ever imagined as a journalist, from what it takes to support homeless students in a major public school district to the lack of clarity in laws surrounding surrogates in Indiana.

I live in my hometown, Indianapolis, where I’ve now worked at several of the city’s major news organizations, including the Indianapolis Business Journal, Chalkbeat Indiana, WFYI and TheStatehouseFile.com. My work has been recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists, the Indianapolis Press Club Foundation, and the Indiana Collegiate Press Association.

I’m a staunch believer in the importance of lifelong learning and am eager to grow my skills in multiple industries. That’s why, in 2021, I’m making a career shift to become a Marketing Partner for Innovatemap, a digital product agency, as part of the Indianapolis Orr Fellowship. Read more about my next steps here.
